I don’t know what was more embarrassing during this episode of Big Brother 24 – the stupid veto competition that got players on fake acid trips or the stupid play move Daniel made that will guarantee that his best friend will be blocked this week.
Wednesday Night picks up right after Monte names Indy and Alyssa for eviction. Monte lets us know that he named them because they’re the only pair that doesn’t include a member of the Leftovers alliance. But he still has his sights set on Nicole, so if things line up and Taylor goes one more time, Nicole could be in trouble.
Nicole is happy not to be in the neighborhood, but she doesn’t feel safe. She says she can only trust Daniel and wouldn’t be shocked if she was the backdoor plan this week.
Meanwhile, Michael, Brittany and Taylor form a sub-alliance. Michael tells us he wants to take Taylor and Brittany all the way with him.
Daniel decides to check with Monte what he thinks this week. Monte maintains the Taylor as a Target Masquerade. But Daniel is a little suspicious after Ameerah is blinded. So he says he can’t let that happen to Nicole this week.
Elsewhere, Taylor, Michael, and Kyle talk about how great it would be if Daniel won the veto and used it and was the cause of his best friend coming home. Taylor says it would be sweet revenge.
Daniel tells Nicole that he really wants to win her veto and not use her. He says his priority is to protect his Final 2.
Everything will therefore come down once again to the veto. So who’s going to play this week? It’s time for the draw and knowledge. Joining Monte, Joseph, Terrance, Indy, and Alyssa are actually Daniel and Kyle.
And it turns out Daniel and Nicole aren’t the only ones who want the nominees to stay the same. Brittany knows that she and Michael are the most vulnerable of the Remnants because they don’t have a non-member with them. So if the names stay the same, they can send Alyssa home and have Indy join them as a shield. And since Taylor is okay with both of them, she says she can wait another week to get revenge on Nicole.
But before anything can or can happen, the veto must be exercised. So let’s go and find out what’s going on.
For this week’s Power of Veto competition, one (or two players) from each team will have to pretend to trip over some psychedelic slop, watch a weird cartoon video of themselves, and then relay that information to the other. player who then must answer a series of questions based on what they have been told about the trip. The team that gets the most correct answers gets the right of veto.
Joseph and Terrance made the trip for their team, while Daniel and Alyssa made the trip for theirs. Monte, Kyle and Indy chose to answer questions.
Round 1: Kyle and Indy each get a point.
Round 2: Everyone scores a point.
Round 3: Kyle gets a point.
Round 4: Kyle and Indy get points.
Last round: they are all right.
This means that Kyle and Daniel win the power of veto.
And Daniel realizes that Kyle is going to want to veto Alyssa. And it apparently only takes one Bestie to change the nominees.
And speaking of which, Michael decides to mention to the rest of the alliance that he and Brittany don’t have a shield, so leaving the nominations the same will keep their alliance stronger. Monte agrees that if Indy joined Michael and Brittany next week, they would be 100% protected. The Remainers therefore lean towards not using the right of veto. But how can they convince Kyle not to use it?
Kyle joins the others, and they give him the land. He gets the plan, but says it would be hard for him not to save Alyssa on a moral basis. They really make Kyle realize that this is the way to really protect the alliance.
So Monte goes to see Daniel and Nicole to make sure Daniel hasn’t decided to use the veto power. Monte tells them that he is more certain of how the votes will go if the nominees remain the same. If he puts Taylor and Nicole on the block, he doesn’t know where the votes would fall and Nicole could go home. He says that’s not what he wants.
Daniel and Nicole think Monte realizes he doesn’t have the votes to get Nicole out this week, so he doesn’t want the veto used so he can save Taylor. This makes them think that now is their chance to get Taylor out, so Nicole will be fine getting back on the block if Daniel uses the veto.
Daniel goes to Kyle and says it’s laughable how Monte is trying to stop them from using the veto now and he knows exactly why. So he tells Kyle that he’s going to use the veto even if Kyle doesn’t.
Kyle lets us know that Daniel isn’t just going to help him save Alyssa, but he’s going to make sure Daniel’s best friend in the game gets a backdoor this week. It might be one of the dumbest moves ever, Kyle adds.
At the veto meeting, Daniel decides to use the veto power. Indy and Alyssa go down, and Nicole and Taylor go up.
