With all of the Finals currently airing on network TV, it’s easy on the mind to think of summer while wondering about all that will fill prime time during the warmer months of the year. . Luckily, we don’t have to wait any longer for a glimpse of how the fall TV schedule will evolve, with networks like ABC revealing its future plans. CBS is the latest broadcaster to tell viewers what will shake up when September rolls around, including how it will replace vacant hit dramas Bull and Magnum IPas well as how his biggest night of sitcoms gets more dramatic.
Before moving Young SheldonPrimetime cohorts, however, let’s break down the first half of the week first, which admittedly won’t look like it’s all that different from regular CBS viewers.
Monday

Tuesday

- The Real Love Boat – 10pm (New Show)
Now that CBS has its pair of NCIS dramas on Monday nights, I would expect the network to keep those time slots locked for as long as either drama is still airing. I had a slight suspicion that the powers that be might try to place the three NCIS dramas in the same night, similar to how things go on Tuesday, but it would have left a big void on Sunday night. So for now, the status quo remains the same.
Same for Tuesday nights, where Dick Wolf FBI frankness reigns supreme. Even with his major star change last season, in which Julian McMahon is out FBI: Most Wantedonly to be replaced by Law and order: organized crime favorite Dylan McDermottthe drama has always maintained its audience, and I’m sure many of them will be happy to see that nothing has changed on those nights.
Wednesday nights hold the first major update of the week for CBS, which goes completely unscripted for the evening, featuring the medical drama Good Sam having been canceled previously among many others. Survivor and Fantastic race will now lead to the brand new series The True Love Boata series of meetings which obviously owes its roots to The ship of love correct. Here’s hoping this show does more than make people seasick.

The rest of CBS’ week is filled with new stuff, relatively speaking, starting with Thursday night, which was its biggest sitcom night since. The Big Bang Theory made its debut. Things always start that way, even if neither Young Sheldon nor the adjusted time Ghosts are filmed in front of a live audience, but the night then swings into more dramatic waters with So help me Todd, starring Marcia Gay Harden and Skylar Astin as a lawyer mother and former PI son who solve cases together while trying to understand each other. Then it will be the return of Expert: Vegas for its second season, which moves from Wednesday evening to Thursday to occupy the place vacated by Michael Weatherly Bull.
More jerks on Friday nights, which will now start with Shemar Moore CRUSH, which returns from its temporary Sunday evening slot. Rather than Magnum IP coming soon, fans can expect to see SEAL Team star Max Thieriot leads new drama between inmates and firefighters land of fire. Closing things that night is the ever-reliable Reagan family on Blue blood.
With Saturday nights sticking to encore presentations and 48 hourswe move on to Sunday evenings, which start the same way with 60 minutes and a new season of Queen Latifah The equalizer. Next, CBS will unveil another new drama in Eastern New Yorkwhich will feature Amanda Warren as the new boss of the 74th Precinct, with a team that includes Jimmy Smiths, Richard Kind and Ruben Santiago-Hudson.
As for midseason replacements, CBS has confirmed that its small-screen remake of James Cameron true lies will be here in the new year, just like the returning unscripted series hard as nails and Secret Celebrity Makeover. Not to mention the debut of other unscripted shows like super fan and Jargon.
Viewers will still have to wait a few more months for these shows to arrive, and we’re still not sure exactly when all the fun will kick off specifically on SCSbut we are there for everything.
