Father’s Day 2022: Saif Ali Khan to Abhishek Bachchan, 8 superstar fathers on their bond with their children

With Father’s Day here, it’s time to celebrate wonderful dads in the glittering city of Bollywood. Although it’s easy to forget, the talented and handsome men we watch on celluloid are much more than actors. They also have roles to play in their personal lives, and one of the most important roles among them is that of being a father. Now is the perfect time to take a look at what B’Town dads have to say about their kids.

Saif Ali Khan on Sara and Ibrahim

Saif Ali Khan is not on social media. However, he often talked about his four children Sara Ali Khan, Ibrahim, Taimur and Jeh in various interviews. In an interview with Zoom, Saif shared that he was full of “nervous prayer” for Ibrahim, when asked about the latter’s Bollywood plans. He also shared how Ibrahim told him he looked like a “young Saif”. For the uninitiated, he is currently assisting Karan Johar in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.

Likewise, in an earlier interview with Anupama Chopra, Saif expressed his thoughts on Sara Love’s film Aaj Kal 2 not performing well critically or commercially. He shared that although he is always there for her, Sara has to deal with such situations on her own. He said he texted her to ask if she was feeling okay, however, he added, he knew she was a difficult kid.

Hrithik Roshan on Hridhaan and Hrehaan

Hrithik and his ex-wife Sussanne Khan are parents to two sons Hridhaan and Hrehaan. Hrithik is extremely close to his boys and often chats with them from time to time around town. In an interview with ETimes, Hrithik revealed that his sons rate all of his films and liked the 2011 film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara the most, as they gave it 11 out of 10. “When we watched ZNMD, I I really saw them identify with this film. It was very surprising because it’s not a children’s film, but I think what rings true with an adult rings true with a teenager or a child,” said said the actor.

Shah Rukh Khan on Aryan, Suhana and Abram

Shah Rukh Khan has repeatedly given up on parenting lessons. In a previous interview, Bollywood’s Badshaah spoke about his bond with his three children Aryan, Suhana and Abram and said, “I love my children not because they are my children, but because I have bonded a friendship with them. I realize that, as they get older, they are my best friends. I think my mental age is between 12 and 14, so it’s good to have two friends that I can never have.”

Aamir on Ira, Junaid and Azad

Aamir has two children by his first wife Reena Dutta: Junaid and Ira, while he has Azad with his second wife Kiran Rao. In a previous interview with Filmfare in 2017, Aamir revealed how he spent a lot of time with Junaid, his firstborn, when he was a baby. He said, “When Junaid was born in 1993, I only shot 36 days that year. For 328 days I stayed with him. Aamir also shared that he loves taking his youngest son Azad to play tennis and have dinner with him whenever he is in Mumbai.

Aamir is also close with his daughter Ira and the actor is often featured on his Instagram space. Ira has been a mental wellness advocate and in 2020 spoke out about depression. Speaking about the same, Aamir shared in an interview with News18, the Lagaan actor said that his daughter has faced many challenges in life and he is happy that she is fighting them bravely.

Akshay Kumar on Aarav and Nitara

A quick glance at Akshay Kumar’s Instagram space would reveal that he is quite close with his children Aarav and Nitara. Although the actor doesn’t post much more than his profession requires, he does share adorable photos of himself with Nitara. In an interview with Hindustan Times last year, Akshay explained how seeing his children affected by paparazzi and trolling culture hurt him as a father.

Akshay shared that Aarav didn’t want to hang out with them after a workout because he was worried about being trolled for looking tired and sweaty on Instagram. He added that his six-year-old daughter Nitara doesn’t like going to family dinners as she doesn’t like paparazzi flashes. He said: “Children of stars have enough pressure in life; the world doesn’t need to increase it by hunting down innocent children.

Shahid Kapoor on Zain and Misha

Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput are the parents of two wonderful children, Misha and Zain. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Shahid said he doesn’t like to post too many pictures of his children online because he protects them. In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Shahid was asked how fatherhood has changed him. He replied, “I’m sure, kaafi kuch. Usko words mein daalna bada mushkil hain. I feel the change now that I am a parent. Yeah, that makes you a man. It helps you become a little less self-centered, which I think all artists are, which is great. Because as soon as you’re less self-centered, you open up to new things and that’s fine. Huge changes, I would say, a whole new life, a whole new perspective.

Ajay Devgn on Nysa & Yug

Speaking of superstar dads, Ajay Devgn is another name that makes it onto this list. The actor is the father of two children, Nysa and Yug. Speaking to Hindustan Times recently, Ajay said he talks a lot with his children. He further added that he wants them to be punished just like Kajol and him. “Me and Kajol explain to them what’s right and wrong and allow them to soak things up. Of course they make mistakes, of course they disobey on occasion. When that happens, there’s more conversations. Kajol and I are grounded as people despite our celebrity status. We want our kids to be punished too,” the actor said.

Abhishek Bachchan on Aaradhya

Abhishek Bachchan is also a doting dad to Aaradhya, and the actor has spoken about his daughter many times. In a recent chat, Junior Bachchan revealed how even his creative choices as an actor have changed, keeping Aaradhya in mind. “As any parent would tell you, your child shapes a big part of your mindset. Not just in your professional life, it’s every day. I’ve always been someone who gives a lot of “Importance to family. So obviously I’m no different. My creative choices have indeed changed over time, keeping my family, my daughter in mind,” he said.
