Jane Fonda, 84, opens up about her facelift admitting she’s ‘not proud’ and won’t have another

Jane Fonda has admitted she’s “not proud” of getting a facelift and has ruled out going under the knife again because she “don’t want to look out of shape”.

The actress, 84, opened up about her surgery regrets and warned of the dangers of becoming addicted to cosmetic procedures in a new interview with Vogue published on Tuesday.

The Hollywood legend has openly admitted that she’s had a facelift before, but won’t be repeating the procedure.

She said: ‘I had a facelift and stopped because I don’t want to look deformed. I’m not proud of the fact that I had one.

‘Now I don’t know if I had to do it again if I would. But I did. I admit it, and then I just say, okay, you can get addicted. Don’t keep doing it. A lot of women, I don’t know, they’re addicted to it.

The movie star added that she doesn’t spend a lot of money on expensive face creams, instead insisting that laughter is just as good for the skin.

She said, “I don’t do a lot of facials. I don’t spend a lot of money on face creams or anything like that, but I stay hydrated, I sleep, I move, I stay out of the sun, and I have good friends who make me laugh. Laughter is a good thing too.

The Grace and Frankie star opened up about how aging doesn’t have to be scary and that she wants to raise awareness that there are ways to age in a positive and healthy way.

“I want young people to stop being afraid of growing old. What counts is not the age, it is not this chronological number. What matters is your health.

“I’m almost 85, but I don’t look that old,” she explained. “Thus, to make young people stop being afraid of being old, to help people realize that just because you’re a certain age doesn’t mean you have to give up on life…”

The Oscar-winning talent opened up about how grateful she was to still be healthy for her age.

“I mean, every day when I get out of a car, I thank the goddesses that I have strong thighs, that I trained to keep strong thighs,” she said.

The Book Club actress appeared in a recent H&M Move campaign, prompting Jane to sit down with Vogue to discuss the new collaboration. The collection of “movewear” items should be available on August 4th.

Jane has reflected on aging before, and in an interview with Glamor earlier in May, she explained that she doesn’t want to have any regrets as she continues to age.

“One of the things I knew for sure was that I didn’t want to come to the end with a lot of regrets, so how I lived to the end was what was going to determine whether I had any regrets or not,” the star told the publication.

“It totally changed the way I think about myself and how I wanted to live the last third of my life. And I realized the importance of being intentional about how we go through life.

The talented actress continues to be active and working out, from simple nature walks to fitness routines.

“When you get older, you realize that staying healthy is joyful and critical because age isn’t so much a timeline.

“You can be very old at 84, which is my age, but you can also be very young,” she told Glamour.

Jane began acting on the Broadway stage, her Hollywood career beginning in the 1960s, starring in hit films such as Sunday In New York (1963) and Barbarella (1968).

She won two Best Actress Oscars in the 1970s, earning various other nominations and awards in the years to come.

In addition to being passionate about the silver screen, the star has enjoyed dancing and fitness for years.

Jane released her first exercise video in 1982, which became the best-selling VHS of the 20th century.
