His comments come after Will publicly apologized to Rock last month on his social media and revealed his former pal still hasn’t forgiven him.

Smith said he’s taken the past three months to “work” on himself and now realizes how many people he hurt when he punched Rock on stage at the awards show.

“I contacted Chris and the message that came back is he’s not ready to talk when he is, he will. So I’ll tell you, Chris, I’m sorry. My behavior was unacceptable and I’m here whenever you’re ready to talk.

He also apologized to Rock’s mother and all of his family, especially Rock’s mother and younger brother Tony.

“I just didn’t realize how many people were hurt at that time, so I want to apologize to Chris’ mum. I want to apologise.

“I see my whole family as human, and I love and accept them for all their humanity,” the Meet Me At Our Spot hitmaker explained.

“I want to apologize to Tony Rock…Tony Rock was my man and it’s probably beyond repair,” he said.

He also apologized to Jada Pinkett Smith, his wife, whose honor he claimed to be defending with the explosion, and said she had “nothing to do with it”.

“I spent the last three months replaying and understanding the nuances and complexities of what happened at that time.

“I’m not going to try to unpack all of this now, but I can tell you all that there’s no part of me that thinks that was the right way to behave at that time.

“There’s no part of me that thinks that’s the best way to deal with feeling disrespected or insulted.”

Rock, who hosted the show, joked that Smith’s wife Jada looked like “GI Jane” because of her bald head.

She had recently revealed that she suffered from alopecia.

Smith stormed off stage and slapped Rock after he fumed, “Keep my wife’s name out of your fucking mouth.”

He went on to win Best Actor for his role in King Richard that night, but he didn’t specifically apologize to Rock.

Insisting that his wife had nothing to do with the slap, he continued: “I made my own choice based on my own experiences of my history with Chris.

‘Jada has nothing to do with it. I’m sorry, baby.

“I want to say sorry to my children and my family for the warmth I brought to all of us.

“For all my fellow nominees, it’s a community.

“It feels like I won because you voted for me and it breaks my heart that you stole and tarnished your moment.”

Smith went on to say that “disappointing people” was his “central trauma”.

“I can still see Questlove’s eyes. You know it happened on the price of Questlove. You know, it’s like.

‘I’m sorry, it’s really not enough.

“Letting people down is my main trauma. I hate it when I let people down so it hurts.

“It hurts me psychologically and emotionally to know that I haven’t lived up to the image and the impression that people have of me, and the job that I’m trying to do is that I’ve deeply remorseful.

And I try to feel remorse without being ashamed of myself. I’m human and I made a mistake and I try not to think of myself as shit.

“I would tell these people I know it was confusing, I know it was shocking, but I promise you that I am deeply dedicated and committed to bringing light, love and joy into the world.

“And, you know, if you hang in there, I promise you we can be friends again,” he told fans he let it go.

Rock only recently addressed the controversy during a show at Madison Square Garden, where he laughed it off.

“Anyone who says words hurt has never been punched in the face,” he told the crowd.

Smith issued his first apology to Rock in March. He posted a lengthy statement on Instagram in which he said “violence in all its forms” was wrong.
